Author Topic: Custom Icon/Header Requests.  (Read 5024 times)
« on: December 22, 2010, 03:07:28 pm »

I don't think that this would go with the Wallpaper discussion, so I thought I would create my own. (And feel free to tell me if I am in the wrong section with this...)

I make Icons and Headers for use with Desktop Visualizer.
I'm sure you've all heard of the "Android Phone 7" layouts. I put my own take on it and create custom icons.

Here are a few examples of what I can do:

here are a few of the basic layouts i've had:

All I ask is that you fill out the form below:

Color of the Icon/Header:
Style (plain color/grungy/subtle/etc):
Size (1x4[tall];4x1[long]; 2x2; etc):
Name of the APP:
Syle of font used:
Picture (if you have one):
Special Directions:

Make sure to say please and thank you.

PS: If you want to learn how to do this (if there isn't already a tut somewhere) I can make a tutorial.

Okay all: here is a quick tutorial I've drawn up.

There are a few requirements you must meet before doing this.
You must have the following apps:
-Launcher Pro (Launcher Pro PLUS Recommended but not required.)
-Desktop Visualizer

It will replace the HTC SENSE USER INTERFACE.

Okay let's get started.
First you will need to make some icons. You may use photoshop;gimp;etc.
Here is a chart for the sizes to make your icons:

1x1: 110 x 125
1x2: 110 x 260
1x3: 110 x 395
1x4: 110 x 530
2x1: 230 x 125
2x2: 230 x 260
3x1: 350 x 125
3x3: 350 x 395
4x1: 470 x 125
4x4: 470 x 530

Okay. So I assume you finished step one?
Step One: Completed - Make your icons.

[I forgot to add that you need to make your screen 5 rows and 4 columns. You can do this by:
Pressing menu button.
Select Preferences.
Press Homescreen Settings.
Press "Number of Rows". Select 5.
Launcher Pro will restart.
The End.]

Now just follow me. It's really easy.

Press menu button or long press the screen.
Click on Widgets.
Scroll to Desktop Visualizer. Click the size widget you made your icon.
Select the Icon you made.
Select and action by finding the application you want it to open.
Clear out the label. (I believe you can make that empty by default in settings.)
Select OK.
Merry Christmas. You made the icon. Feel free to move it across the screen. (And resize it if you have Launcher Pro PLUS)

Continue the same process until you have the screen how you want it.

To make sure I know what it's going to look like when I am done, I make a very easy basic layout on a piece of paper first telling me what size icon to use and also what the app is going to be.

So the point here is to make the One look like windows mobile 7, right?  I don't know much about it, but from the commercials and images above it looks like you'd have less icons available at a time...making it more complicated to accomplish things. Is this true?
