Author Topic: HTC Sync Help  (Read 3160 times)
« on: January 03, 2012, 10:24:36 am »

Hi there. I am a new HTC user as well as a new Android user. I bought the HTC One XE under the impression that it was Mac compatible, as the sales guy assured me there would be something in the memory stick that comes with the phone to install on my Mac. However, I only found an .exe file for HTC Sync, which I cannot open with my MacBook.

I found a HTC Sync for Mac somewhere on the XDA forums, which I am also new too. I am not sure if the application truly works, but I have installed it and successfully mounted my device to my Mac. However, when I had synced music from my iTunes to the device via the HTC Sync, but only about 300 out of the 1500 songs I have transferred over to the device.

I am not sure where to go from here...I have never used HTC before, and was a long time iPhone user. Any form of help is appreciated very much!!

Hi zolidify and welcome to the forum.

Mac and Android work fine together. There is nothing that prohibits this.

Having said that, iTunes is a very propriety driven application. It changes the file types of standard mp3's to its own system. There may be some file types mixed in those music files that Android does not recognize.

Here is a  pretty good chart to see what files are compatible on an Android phone:

I use mp3, mp4, avi, wma and wmv without any problem.
