Author Topic: Cannot Connect to Home Wifi  (Read 187307 times)
« on: October 25, 2011, 09:26:10 pm »

As per title, My HTC One XE cannot detect to my home wifi, yet it is able to detect my neighbors' network.

I have come across that quite a number of people had this problem, I even tried to follow the solutions suggested on the internet, but it just doesn't work to my situation.

I have even downloaded "Hidden SSID Enabler", it doesn't work.
I have also forgotten and re-added my own network manually for numerous time, it still doesn't work.
I have also turned off the "network notification" as suggested by some users that this may be the cause for my phone not being able to detech my SSID.

And, my network is still at the bottom list there showing "not in range, remembered".

This is just too annoying.

It might be the settings on your router that needs to be set properly.

You might have to setup your phone as a static device (static IP) in advanced settings
then on your router, in its settings, you have to find the device and set it as a static IP device

The thing is this, it was okay connecting to my home WiFi since I bought the phone 2 weeks ago. It was only these 2 days that the phone suddenly cannot connect to home wifi.

iPhone is connecting well with the Wifi, and my lappy too.

I really have no idea what is wrong here. The phone or the router.

What channel is your router running on?

If it is a high channel, 10 or higher:
Try a lower channel, such as channel 8 or 9 or lower. Your phone should be able to find it without any problems when that's set.

If your WiFi experience goes down when you switched, download InSSIDer software to your laptop to see what channel is not used much by others in your area and your experience will be boosted again.

There's a WiFi sleep policy. You might want to check it out too:
To access it: Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Wi-Fi Settings -> Menu -> Advanced >> Wi-Fi sleep policy.

Set it to "Never"
