Posting Guidelines

If you have not been able to find the answer to your question or problem after reading the links above and using the search function, feel free to post a message in the appropriate forum/section and give as much detail about your problem as possible, including whether or not you are using a task killer (you shouldn't be), whether or not your phone is rooted, what you think is causing the problem, etc. If you are having a problem with an app, please tell us which app it is (whether its a stock app that came with the phone or one you downloaded, and which one it is). We'll do our best to help you but the more information you can give us, the faster/better we can help.

Please do not post in fonts or colors not able to be seen (i.e using fonts that are difficult to read (i.e., red, purple, black, etc.), USING ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, or using the glow or marquee tool for the whole post). This includes not typing the subject of your message USING ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.

Do not bump threads, whether by using the word "bump" or in any other way. If someone can help you, they will respond. If no one has responded, it most likely means no one knows the answer. We try to answer all threads as best we can, even if its to say we don't know the answer. As such, bumping of threads is not allowed. Please be patient as everyone on this forum has a life and it make take several hours, if not a day or two, to respond to your message.

Sometimes people post a message and forget where it is or they can't find it. Staff members often move posts if they were placed in the wrong section and there's a more appropriate place for them. If you ever can't remember whether you posted about something, can't find it or can't remember where it is, click on the Profile button at the top of the page, scroll down to the bottom and click on "Show the last posts of this person." Posts there are listed with the most recent posts at the top. If you still can't find it, contact one of the staff members (instructions are below).

How To Do Multiple Quotes In One Post

We ask that members not post back-to-back messages in a thread in order to keep things tidy and help the discussions flow better. If you want to respond to multiple people or multiple threads, the easiest way is to use the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the page to do multiple quotes.

Click Quote on the first post you want to respond to, then write your response beneath it. Then move the cursor down a couple of lines with the return/enter key, and click Quote on the second one you want to reply to. You can do this as many times as needed to respond to different people in one post and avoid double-posting.

Click Preview to make sure it all looks ok, then post it.

Alternate method:

So you are in a topic and you want to reply to two separate posts in one post. You want to quote both of those posts but are unable. Here is how you do it.

First, right click on one of the "quote" buttons. There should be an option, "Open Link in a New Tab". Select that.

You should have two tabs open now, one with a post box in it, and one with the topic. In the topic tab, left-click the "quote" button of the other post you wanted.

There still should be two tabs opened, both with post boxes showing.

Copy the quoted text from one of them and paste it to bottom of the other. You can now close the tab which you copied the text from.

In the remaining post box, there should be two separate quote boxes when you post/preview. You can type in between the quote boxes if you would like.

The Cookie-Mini FAQ:

Cookies are the karma system used on these forums. If you see someone do a good job and helping out the forums, click the "[Give a cookie]" link located on the left column under the person's name. If you see someone not following this guide then click the "[Take a cookie]" button link.

NOTE: You are not giving a member one of YOUR cookies. You are giving someone a cookie from the "cookie jar". Same with "taking" a cookie. If you take a cookie, it does NOT get added to your cookie count. It gets put back into the "cookie jar" or it is thrown into the trash. xD

Please refrain from giving or taking more than one cookie for each reason and only take or give cookies for real reasons.  You may be given a partial ban if you do not follow this rule.  Cookies should only be given to members who have helped out with the development, discoveries, or helped with guiding another member in the right direction (phone wise).  For example, if someone is helpful, please only give them one cookie. Conversely, if someone is rude or impolite, please take only one cookie. (You can, of course, use cookies in conjunction with the Thank You link on the upper left corner of every post.)

If you have -3 cookies or more, you will be partially banned for a given amount of time decided by an Admin or Moderator.

Contacting the Staff

If you have questions for any mod or admin, send them a Personal Message (known as a PM) and they will get back to you. Be patient, we have real lives and it may take longer than you would hope. If we haven't answered your PM in a few days, feel free to send it again. You can find a list of the staff members by clicking on the Members tab at the top of the page, then clicking on the Search for Members link. Check the box for "Search by Position" and type in either administrator or moderator (the only two staff positions we have), then click Search. Keep in mind that the main reason to contact a mod or admin is to let us know or ask about something related to the forums.

Alternatively, you can click the Members tab then click the Posts header. As noted above, we only have two levels of staff members: administrators and moderators. So look for those.

Also, know that the admin "HTC One X" is the head honcho in the technical area of the site. Questions about adding features to the forums or other similar questions should be directed toward him. Please be especially patient as he has other forums to tend to.

Random Questions

Q. I want to be a mod!! How?

A. If you want to be a mod just follow this guide. Be a good member, show that you are a good contributor to the forums, and if we need a mod, we will message you. Messaging us will help us know you are interested but we can't promise anything.
