Hi Rich72 and welcome to the forum.

First, to make searching your phone/SD card easier I suggest installing Astro File Manager (free) from the Android Market. It even allows you to move files around.

The place to put mp3s you wish as ringtone for notifications is:

Media > Audio > Notifications

Then in the SMS app, choose that file   Smiley

Hi, I am in the same boat as Rich72. I would like to set up a song as an sms alert tone. Problem is I can't find the file path you have suggested.

Here's what I did. Hooked up the phone to my PC and selected 'disc drive - mount as disc drive' on the screen of the phone. I then selected to open files using explorer on my PC. This opens a window on my pc called removable disc so I can explore the files of the phone. That is were I can not find a file called 'media' so then can't find audio or notifications either!

Is this file path one that comes from installing the astro file manager? If it is I then need to load up that App I guess?

Is there an alternative? IE; using the phone handset go to get a song from somewhere?

thanks in

On some phones you may actually need to create the Notifications folder.

Doesn't matter whether you're using the Windows File Explorer or an app such as Astro File Explorer.

Thank you, creating that file path did the trick.
