the bloody phone turns itself on, randomly then screen goes black after a while, 10secs later it turns itself on again.
the worst part is this is consuming lots of battery power which has a tiny life span as it is with these phones.

data roaming is turned off. its not due to notifications or so.
its random, it might not do it for a few days or a week or so and all of a sudden its a problem for a while, maybe 15min, maybe 3hours, maybe 2 days, depends on how i handle it. usually turning the phone off and booting it up again sorts the problem out, its an annoying process though.

anyone else had this problem?

Hi Txen and welcome to the forum.

Please use the Search before posting a new thread on subject matter already discussed. There are several existing threads about "random reboot."  This is a known issue with *some" handsets.

This problem usually resolves itself after you get the OTA update (usually within a couple weeks of your phone going live.)

Others have reported resolution after performing a Soft Reset:

  • Turn phone off
  • Remove back cover
  • Remove battery
  • Reinstall battery
  • Reinstall back cover
  • Turn phone back on.

As a last resort you could perform a Factory Reset, but be advised to back-up all data & media first to help make the recovery less tedious.

I have looked it up and people had problems with the phone turning itself off.
I did a factory reset and it hasnt solved the problem.

Then you have 3 choices (if this really bothers you that much.)

  • Wait to see if the OTA update resolves this issue.
  • Send your phone for repair/replacement to where you purchased it.
  • Do nothing and see if it resolves itself (this often happens.)
