Hi does any one know whether I can use Microsoft word and Excel on the HTC One XE, if so what do I do to obtain Word and Excel.

Made by microsoft: No. But you can open word/excel documents with OpenOffice and other office apps you can get (for free) in the Market...

If you go to the Android market and type 'Microsoft Office' it'll come back with a few options. I've heard quick office was good.  If you want to edit the documents though your gonna have to pay for them as the free version of the apps generally don't allow editing.  You could also try the Google docs app.

My S4g came with Polaris Office and it works great with Word Excel files

I use OfficeSuite Pro V 5.1.519 and it works great for me.
