Too many to list but I will say do NOT use any kind of task managers. They do more harm than good.

Here are some of my favorites:
A Online Radio: A free Internet radio app with plenty of variety
aBTC: A BitTorrent client, slow but free
Airplane Mode Wi-Fi: A free app that enables wifi when phone is in Airplane Mode
Astro Player Beta: A free music and video player with graphic equalizer
aTrackDog: A free app that lists all apps in alphabetical order and checks for updates
Dolphin Browser HD: A free Web browser
Google Goggles. Shopper, Sky Map, Translate, Voice- All very useful and free
iMusicTao: A low-priced (Sorry I can't remember the price...) app that lets you stream or download mp3s
Linda Manager: A free file manager
Opera Mini 4.2: A free Web browser and RSS feed reader. Opera Mini 5 is the latest version, but 4.2 works better if you read a lot of RSS feeds
Ringdroid: A free app that lets you use any part of an mp3 file as a ringtone
Shazam: A free app that samples a song from the radio or TV and identifies it
Speaking Pad: Speaks anything you type, and free
TubeDroid 2.5.2: A cheap app that lets you stream or download YouTube videos in HD
Ultrachron Lite: A free talking stopwatch and timer
That should get you off to a good start.

One that I really enjoy is called Zedge, it has TONS of user uploaded backgrounds and ring tones. Pretty cool it is a free app and all the dls from it are free giving you access to crazy amounts of ring tones and backgrounds that are all saved on the SD card.

Shazam it will listen to a sound clip of a song and tell you who it is and the name of the song? If so I am in heaven.

Do they have a golfpin finder? They have one on the pre and my boyfriend would be very sad if they didn't have one in this marketplace.

What do you mean by "they do more harm than good?" I saw good reviews for Advanced Task Killer and planned on installing that app.

Hey all. Also new to Android and also wondering what's so bad about the task manager apps? If they are not good, how do you stop apps from running in the background? Many moons ago, I had a Windows mobile phone, and I remember you could bring up a list of all apps running and stop them--individually or all at once. Is something like this available on Android? I don't like apps running in the background if I don't need them. I want my processor as free as possible.
Thanks!
