Airplane Mode Wi-Fi: A free app that enables wifi when phone is in Airplane Mode
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't get why you would need such an application? If you want your phone in airplane mode, you shouldn't be using WiFi anyways. If you want to use WiFi but not the phone (why have a phone) then just turn off your ringer and mobile data (easy to do through settings on the One) besides, I have many friends who are Pilots. None of them shut off their phones when they're flying (except maybe to turn off the ringers to save from distractions). From what I have been told, the reason airlines want you to turn off your phone/electrical equipment is not because of the possibility of interference, but because they want your full attention during take off and landing. Just a guess, but a lot of people seem to be using airplane mode at night to silence ringers and preserve battery life. I'd be more likely to believe the app is to supplement that usage rather than using wifi on an actual airplane. (But I could be wrong!  ) |

Damn stewardess once asked me to turn off my cell phone before takeoff and I kindly reminded her that it was in airplane mode and she said it didn't matter!

I'll list what they all do. (Alphabetical order)
ASTRO File Manager: or AndroZip (They both function the same)
Doesn't get too complicated here. It's your door to the internals of your One and the micro-sd card without having to connect to your computer.
Has functions like copying, pasting, deleting, opening, moving, etc.! (basically what you can do on your computer)

Another given. Works better than Qik and supports Skype video calls! Why not?
LED Light OR LED Desire Light
1st one) Ability to use the dual LEDs as flashlight, use for light during video recording. Has a widget for fast toggling.
2nd one) Same ability, but you can intensify the LED power (and it gets VERY bright)
The down side? No toggle widget, but will stay on until you switch it off.
Music Wizard
FREE Music downloads! Updated very frequently; saves music to SD card. Enough Said.
Pandora
Why not? Its random music, and it's free. No need to download, just streams. Very popular.

OPTIONALS (STILL VERY USEFUL)

IDs music; gives you author and title of music that may be playing on the radio or in your surroundings. Good for when you cant remember the name of a particular song.

See how fast your internet connection on your One is. Simple as that. Could be helpful for statistical uses.

That LED Desire does get bright! Extremely bright! So much more thatn LED Light. Do you know what the Enter Text here feature is for? I figured it had something to do with having it flash to signal your message, but can't seem to do anything with it. |

Yea, the text part is for the "Morse" button. Type what you want it to say and when you tap morse it'll blink like so. This app now has a widget so I replaced the LED Light with the LED Desire Light. Brighter definitely comes in handy. |

Morse Code is (was) practical in Radio communications because even with a weak/noisy signal, you could still clearly make out the high pitched tones. With Satellites and everything going digital nowadays, even the Amateur Radio community has dropped the need for Morse Code. Blinging a light or LED in morse code may be helpfull if trapped in a sound-proof room with a window facing a busy traffic area, but for the most part, it's a novelty, especially on a cell phone. |

Very good suggestions so far. Have to add.:
Appbrain (exellent) notified me of apps that needed updates solving problems I was having with one of my apps "World droid cup" (this one for the world cup) and others. Check it out, lots of cool features.
Camera 360 is a cool option for artistic pictures.
Mobile Defense, now, this one, is a MUST HAVE. Very cool and I was amazed with the precision when locating my cell. U can localize, lock, wipe, send a message and an alarm to your phone.
Music Junk, exellent for downloading mp3s, stores in SD and plays right out of the music player on the phone
ZUMO drive for cloud files, very simple to use.
