Author Topic: Reorganise the One Applications page  (Read 3016 times)
« on: September 06, 2011, 06:42:30 am »

 Good day to all ,
As a complete newbie to the android system , and after being spoilt by the iphone , could someone please tell me if it is possible to re arrange the app icons into the order I would like them as opposed to the three possibilities allowed by the phone. As people will be aware you can rearrange the  iphone app screen by dragging them to where you want them , it is a shame the android people did not follow suit.
Any help will be welcome , thanks

Why should Android do what iPhone does ? Android isn't iPhone.

Rearrange them where? in the All apps list ?

On the home screen you can move the icons to where you want them.
Inside folders not so much, but if you long press on an icon inside a folder,
then move the icon back inside the folder it will be placed last,
so in a way you can arrange them as well.

Android is not an iphone ,,,,,, what a pity !!!!! , I would have thought that as the iphone was such a popular phone , then android would have taken the best from iphone and incorporated it into android.
Secondly why should I have to go such a long winded way round of putting things into folders then all the trouble of moving them in and out of folders , as if I were doing the hokey cokey with them,( with the iphone as you well know , you just press, hold, and slide them around that page or another page , ( very civilised and convienent ) just to get them in the order that I want,, what happens if I want to re organise a folder into a different order .
From the help I seem to be getting from both you and the phone , although I have only had the thing a month , I think I will be chopping it in and going back to iphone, at least Apple have come up with a very easy and ergonomic way of doing things.
Thank you very much for your friendly reply , but it did not help one little bit.

Hi, there.
I was only pointing out an obvious fact. Don't read emotions not implied into the text.
For features you think need to be addressed, contact the developers.

You can long press and slide apps on the Android as well, and there are apps that can do what you want.

(And by the way, it took three years after Apple launched the original iPhone operating system, until they finally added the ability to organise apps into folders.)

I suspect that when you buy a car or any other product you get annoyed because it doesn't have all the "bells and whistles" of that other, more shiny product. And then you join a forum to inform users of that product that what you just bought is crap, because it doesn't have the features of that other "better" product and that you'd obviously rather have the other seriously hyped one. Lame.

Sent using Tapatalk, trust me. Proud to be rooted.
