Ok, then someone hopefully will make a "How to safely root your One" thread.
Until then... I hope we find a cool screen capture app. Simplicity is the key!

For 1.5 the only way I know of is with ddms in the Android sdk. Root is required too.
Well, you're right and wrong there Z. You can do it with the ddms from the Android SDK, but it does not require rooting your phone. I've done it plenty times with my Hero and works like a charm.

I am in so jealeous of all you "5 stars" that can root your phones and do all the great things you do. But I really love the way you all help us out so us "novice nerds" can do it also.

And we are glad to help... well, we are all here to help each other with this device... and the more you participate, the more stars you'll get...

That's exactly how I do it. I love how to articles on items that have not been released yet. I see no reason why it wouldn't work on the One, but funny still.

I thought the same thing, but still felt the info was pertinent. Somebody has to come up with a way of doing this on the phone without a computer... There are sooo many of these for WinMo, BlackBerry, WebOS (right out of the box!)

I wonder what is the deal? It says it works on the non rooted One. But when I look it up on the market from my phone it says not found. From my non rooted Hero, it doesn't work.

Well I guess we'd have to ask pingpongboss or Chiitown Kruger since android communities are reporting that One's are indeed capable of using this app without the root.

Yes, this is one of the few times where a glitch works in the user's favor! It seems that only the One is able to use ShootMe without root. No one really knows why. But I'm loving ShootMe.
