There *is* indeed this bug in the latest Swype, but there is no need to uninstall and reinstall - just long press and switch input type out of Swype and the back.

It needs fixing - but it's nothing as dramatic a problem as needing to uninstall and reinstall.

I tried that...more than once.  Still, who wants to keep having to change the input.  When I want to text, I want it to work.  I don't want to have to fix a bug first.

That does sound annoying but I haven't had that problem so far. I expect it to get fixed soon. I just didn't like ShapeWriter. I couldn't get used to it, I guess.

I was a big fan of Swype until they pulled it from the market.  Now U use Ultra Keyboard and love it.  Speech to Text is great. and the ability to configure the layout is great.

Swype on my One is not working. The Blue box always appears and swyping is not working. My phone is not rooted. I just downloaded the latest ver. of swype. I used this app before on my Nexus One and its working fine. But my previous device was rooted.
