I have installed ADW launcher after I got tired of how long it took for HTC Sense home screen to load. I took the time to customize it. I am having one issue that is driving me crazy. Even though I have cleared the setting to make HTC Sense launcher my home as default, I still get prompted EVERY TIME for what launcher do I want for the home screen. Each time I check the option for ADW and to make it my default but it never seems to "stick".

I checked in the apps settings and it is listed as default. I even tried "home manager" to try and help and nothing seems to work. On a whim I downloaded Go Launcher EX and it seems to keep the default setting. I don't want to take all the time to customize it as I've done for ADW.

I've made ADW the default at least 100 time to no avail. Any ideas?

I'll give that a try again. I tried that about a week ago.

It also seems to affect Go Launcher EX as well but so far only 1 in about 20 tries. Very annoying and I am about ready to root my phone to get rid of the HTC Sense interface.

It isn't as though I hated the HTC Sense interface, I just hated how slow it was to return to the home screen. After a few apps were loaded on the phone it was bog slow. It could take up to 40 seconds to return to the home screen after clicking on the home button.

I did a soft reset, no help. Still having the issue. I am not using any task killers. There doesn't seem to be a lot running. ADW or GO Launcher load almost instantly yet Sense takes forever. It also appears that all stays with MY default launcher UNTIL a HTC app runs or is opened.

For example, if I open the HTC mail client then I have to set up my home launcher default again. The phone really doesn't have a lot of usable RAM to begin with. There isn't a lot of apps running in the background that are any different from when I first got the phone. Of course there are all the default crap running. I have 174MB free at the moment.

After using other launchers I am willing to give up the cool HTC widgets for more customization of the launcher. I like being able to have more info on each screen. For the record I don't have this issue on any other Android device I have including a HTC tablet. Only on the One and I have almost all the same software loaded on them.

I feel like I want to just pitch the phone out the window. I think the next stop might be to root it but since I've never done it I am a bit concerned about having an issue with it. Then of course there are the warranty issues...
