Author Topic: Has anyone used the Vlingo keyboard? --- minireview added at end of thread  (Read 2596 times)

I was wondering if anyone had any reactions to the Vlingo keyboard, positive or negative.  How 'bout it?

I never could get used to Swyping.  But maybe it's because I'm a musician - I can tap pretty quickly.  If I need to go faster, Vlingo helps with that.

Thanks for your response.

Added in edit:

Here's a mini-review of the Vlingo keyboard.  I installed it and I've used it fairly extensively over the course of a day.  For typing, it is similar to the standard keyboard but it doesn't have the punctuation you can get by long-pressing certain keys.  You have to go to the secondary keyboard.  On the other hand its predictive text choices are really fast and good if you like that sort of thing.  The best feature is that the voice entry becomes Vlingo, wherever you use the Vlingo keyboard.  Voice entry inevitably misses some words and you can touch them and re-enter the correct word.

The Vlingo keyboard is for those who want to use Vlingo voice entry and have really good predictive entry (you get a line of word possibilities as you type).  If you are a good tapper with the stock keyboard, don't mind not using Vlingo or like to swipe, then this isn't for you.
I plan to use it for a few more days and see if I can get used to not having the punctuation on the first page of the layout, and see if I use the Vlingo voice entry more this way.
