After backing up your newly installed apps, what then? This is like a "just in case app"? so that when you break your phone, you can just use the backup and get all the apps back?

Sorry, i'm just a little confused on how to use it. My friends  recently rooted my phone, so that i lost everything. I'm just taking precautions now lol.

yes you can kinda say that, i am new to titanium backup myself so i am still learning since i became rooted, however since your learning new things with rooted and some things causes problems im grateful to the app as i myself have had to use it about 6 times. I have not found an app that can replace the apps on your homescreen in the exact layout but this does sure remember all your apps on the phone including your mail settings and sms.

below are a few screenshots from my device showing you the layout!

Yes.
If you create a full Batch backup (all apps + systemdata) you can move the TitaniumBackup to your computer and once you formatted the SD card you can move the folder back and restore the backup.

If you create an update.zip (option in TitaniumBackup), you will be able to install TitaniumBackup without having to get it from the market. Remember to move it too.

So overall what procedure I need to follow to take backup of my phone, waiting for your reply. And how much GB it carries.

Just open the app and choose to make a back-up including all media, data, apps and system data.  Follow the instructions in the app. Then, if you're going to change the config of the phone (example: rooting) move the Titanium Backup folder to your computer first.

As an alternative, there's also MyBackup Pro (in Market.) I've used it several times. Works perfect.
