I just installed SWYPE's latest .apk and it is working fine on my One. But I am wondering, can I delete the 15.2 MB Swype .apk now that the program is installed?

I am not sure how it works with Android.

Is a .apk like a zip file that can be deleted?

Yes.

Its the same as if you were to install a program on a computer.
