Author Topic: Anker 1900 mAh battery?  (Read 24390 times)

I've been trying to search for a new battery because my battery is just god awful for some reason, regardless if I use internet or wifi and whatnot. Not to mention I have my backlight at min. And I never have background data/auto sync on. I looked in the anker and some say it's good, some say it becomes far less efficient after about 2 months, and some say if you peel off the sticker it's only about 1400 mAh... And I have no desire to buy those huge 2400 mAh batteries, just because I don't trust them. Does anyone have any personal experience with these anker batteries?

There are existing threads discussing battery life, ways of improving it and the merits of 3rd party 1900+ batteries. The forum search is a helpful tool.

I'm not familiar with the Anker 1900 mAh battery however I am getting good results from the CHICHITEC 1900 mAh Battery.

How long have you had it for? There's just so much to consider with these things haha some people in the reviews said it was great and others say it only works as well as the stock battery, but it has it given you any problems? And has it made a noticeable increase in battery life?

mAh is the electric charge transferred by a steady current of one ampere for one hour, however the battery voltage varies during discharge. You will notice the onboard voltage meter will linger at 100% for quite a while, then drop steadily, then linger again at certain percentage levels. This is common with all Li-Ion batteries, and why you'll hear various reports of battery inefficiency.

All things being equal...

The HTC One X comes with a 1520 mAh battery which will give roughly 15 hours of standard usage.

The CHICHITEC 1900 mAh Battery I bought gives roughly 19 hours of comparable usage.

I can confirm the Anker battery works perfect. It works better than the stock battery, though dont expect extreme improvements...

I'm assuming we can use the battery from One XE for our old model? The former having a better capacity battery of the same physical size.

Sure.
It's actually not exactly the same physical size. Just like the 1900mAh also dont share exactly the same size. However: they all fit, no problem.

I've been using the Anker 1900 for a week now and it's a real improvement, but I still need to put the phone on charge once a day.

You can still use the one that comes with your phone and charge it as you are used to Smiley

My Anker 1900mAh battery arrived from Amazon.
My first thoughts on opening the Amazon box is that the Anker battery comes supplied in high quality packaging and after unpacking it, I could see that the battery itself is clearly constructed of quality materials and is sealed with Anker branded plastic wrap customised with details of this battery – no cheap stickers hiding the real manufacturer or real battery capacity as is seen on some brands of replacement battery. I would suggest that the external construction is as good or better than the stock HTC battery and it has a similar weight.
The Anker arrived part charged, with ZDbox reporting 70% charge and it is now being charged as i write. It has climbed to 95% charge quite rapidly, so i suspect it will need leaving on charge for a good few hours to establish a proper 100% charged calibration benchmark for ZDbox.

I will need the rest of the weekend to charge it and use it a few times before I report back. I don’t intend to get too scientific about it as others have done out on the web, so my test meter will stay holstered as I don’t consider that measuring the potential difference and voltage drop under load of a battery actually tells us anything of relevance.

What I will do is try to keep my usage consistent with past usage and thereby try to get a gut feeling of whether this battery actually has 25% extra capacity over the stock battery and if it also has good recovery and charging rates.

Hey good to hear you got it, it's a really nice battery Smiley
Do let us know how it works out for you!

On a sidenote, if your phone is rooted: make sure to clear battery stats once it claims it is on 100%. The battery stats are a pain in the ass with CWM and 4EXT if you replace it or misflash your phone... Just a FYI! Smiley

I got the battery about 2 weeks ago, it came with a 68% charge, I was a bit disappointed as I had read long term storage of Lithium-Ion should be at 30% charge. My battery only ever charges to 99% I think my old one went to 100%
There have been some other options discussed on this forum, slightly more expensive, but maybe better.
All in all I now get at least 15 hrs daily use out of the phone. My previous HTC battery started dying around 10 hrs. (I don't consider myself a heavy user, no IM, or Social apps, no e-mail occasional map and internet use once or twice a week, I use it like a PDA and sync with outlook once a day.

I was early on the HTC One X S bandwagon and found that the factory battery did not last more than half a day. So in August I purchased a set of 1900 Milli Amp batteries from ChiChi Tec. The order arrived with two batteries, a wall mounted charger that will hold one battery and also has a USB port.
I have been rotating the batteries since August 2010 and have found a substantial improvement. I still must charge my phone each night (I keep auto updates, Data, Blue Tooth, wifi and GLP turned off unless I actually need to use them).
But overall I gained approximately 30% more usage (because the CHiChi Tec batteries have 30%  more capacity).
