: Case or not to case.
: sledgeharvy April 07, 2011, 10:53:09 PM
Hi everyone. I wanted to ask around for opinions, and you all are the best subjects for my survey. I want to protect my One, but I love looking at how gorgeous it is. Not to mention how amazing it feels in my hand. I'd hate to buy a case and not be able to admire it in my hands along with how awesome the texture of the phones uni-body construction is. So what do you all think? Should I buy a case, leave it as is, or some other choice... ha ha...

I would get a case. You need to protect your investment. There are some nice cases out there that will make your proud. Just look around. I personally have a case I bought from PDair (Silicone) that fits perfectly around all the exposed surfaces, (

Wow, Thanks, I see a few extra choices on the Desire HD compared to the One.. even though they're the same phone.. interesting huh.. well anyhow.. Once again thank you for sharing the link.. I like the thought of just a simple White Leather Case for it... Never thought about one until I saw them on the link you provided. I always think of Cases like that to be for Professional Business Douches... lol.. I guess I can be "That Douche" ha ha.. j/k...

I thought the One S was a slightly different size to the HD due to the different aspect ratio, does the silicone case fit ok?

well, i believe we must protect delicate devices such as htc One S with some cool case and screen protector. i've found a list of top htc One S cases ( S-cases-pouch-and.html) here.

I've just bought this one, fits nice and close, looks really good, suprisingly good quality and comes with screen protector(not used this yet) as used the screen pretoctor from this: (

which is also ok but makes the phone slightly chunkier, fits pretty close, doesn't look as good as the one above though, comes with screen protector which has scratched already. i may even purchase a better screen protector or go without. this one is slightly raised around the screen so should protect it a little anyway. ;D

I don't have my One yet, but when I get it I'll probably go with the one in the attached pic. Its from Case Mate cases and has an inner silicone layer and a hard outer layer for maximum protection.

What about this one? It's the least visible of all I found so far and looking good on (with some serious paint removal though). However, will it protect the phone enough and make it less droppable, what do you think? With a screen protector of course and a belt-pouch-style whatever. Plus are the missing antenna holes a drawback, like lower signal etc? 10x

P.S. PDair are awesome, got a leather PSP case stylish as hell. Waiting for them to unveil something One S-al.

Waiting for the Otterbox to come out.  Trident Cases also says they'll be out with a rugged case next month.  One of the two is what I'll be going with.  Hope Otterbox gets their stuff out there soon though cause that's what I really want.

Right now I got an average old sillicone case, I want to upgrade to an aluminum casing for it, I found one on youtube being checked out and admire it very much so. I am drooling over the hardcore looks and protection it gives  :P

I got the one in the link above from Amazon USA. best case I ever had, love it. comments from friends who have seen my phone with the case on say syuff like "wow quit thin even with the case"
get the right case it is worth it, this one stops me from accidentally pressing volume,
I am so happy with it I felt compelled to post.

Case the One S, without a shadow of a doubt. Only takes one careless moment, and your pride and joy will be pieces of history :'(

With that in mind, I got two cases; one for hard use environments, one for more run-of the mill places.

I got both from Mobile Fun in the UK, and was very pleased with the service and speed - and no, I don't work for them, I'm just extraorinarily happy with the service I've received from them over the last couple of years that I've been using them.

Otterbox Commuter case: Soft rubber inner, hard case outer, feels solid and well designed. Only downside: Rubbish screen protector that only covers the screen, not the entire glasswork. S-One S-xe-commuter-series-p31036.htm ( S-One S-xe-commuter-series-p31036.htm)

They also sell their 'Ultimate accessory pack', which comes with many goodies, including five (count 'em: 5) full-glass MFX screen protectors. Again, I've been well pleased with ths pack, and the screen protectors it includes, and while they're not quite flexible enough to grip to one corner of the screen, does a much better job of protecting the screen than the one supplied by Otterbox (weird, but not that important in the grand scheme of things). Hope the above helps  :)

I always used a case for my Desire and now have one for the One. I find the silicone ones the best. Its nice to have a change of colour and match the wallpaper. What I would say is avoid the 2 piece covers (back and front that click together) I found them really hard to open, which is a pain if you change battery a lot.  :)

At first I want to use a clear or smoke case, so that the HTC and Beat logo can still be seen, but when I use the casemate lookalike from SGP Store, my HTC One XE looks like an iPhone.  :)

Case it, Ahh I am honest now I had dropped my beast a few times only 2 times before getting a case and have a chip ion 1 corner (did a lil sharpie paint job!) Don't make this mistake lol. Hm also I did sharpie on the speaker grills to make it seem bit more unique and darker, silver was bit cheesey for my likings.

Only you know how well you can hang onto your phone.

Personally, I've never used a case or even a screen protector with any phone. Never dropped one, never scratched one. I always buy these phones without a contract so I pay full price and as such, I take real good car of them.
